Biography

Michael Paskevicius earned his Ph.D. from the University of Victoria in 2018 investigating how open educational practices are being enacted in formal higher education. His research looks at the experiences of faculty in designing and practising open educational approaches to teaching and learning using emerging technologies to support collaborative, creative, and personalized learning. Michael began working in higher education in 2005 while doing an internship with the Commonwealth of Learning in Windhoek, Namibia. He worked for three years in information technology development in Namibia before relocating to Cape Town, South Africa to complete his masters in education technology. Michael is currently based on the west coast of Canada and holds a faculty position at the University of Victoria.
