Biography
Michael S. Miller joined the faculty of DePaul University in 1980 and is currently an associate professor of economics and associate dean for academic quality. In his time at the university, he has also served as associate dean of academic programs (1984-89) and chair of the Department of Economics (2001-07).
Miller's research interests include economic pedagogy as well as applied macroeconomics, where his focus has been on both the U.S. and the Kingdom of Bahrain. His work has been published in the Journal of Economic Asymmetries, Journal of Education for Business, the Journal of Teaching in International Business, the International Journal of Applied Economics and Econometrics and the European Research Studies Journal.
Miller has taught internationally in Poland, Hong Kong, Czech Republic and Bahrain, and he has twice been the recipient of DePaul's Excellence in Teaching Award (1991, 2011). His views on economic policy and current events are much in demand as evidenced by his numerous appearances on both television and radio discussing macroeconomic conditions and policy developments.
Miller teaches courses on money and banking, business conditions analysis and macroeconomic theory.
