Biography

Michael Trendell has been teaching graduate and undergraduate Intermediate Accounting, Auditing and Internal Auditing at DePaul University for 10 years. In addition, Trendell has approximately 20 years of accounting industry experience serving as a director of internal audit and director of accounting at various hospitals in the Chicago area. Trendell received the Chicago Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditor’s Educator of the Year Award in 2016 and is also the recipient of the 2017-18 Daniel Seiden Adjunct Teaching Award. Trendell has co-authored, along with Sandra Shelton and Ray Whittington, “Williams Community Hospital: An Internal Auditing Case,” which has been published in the August 2016 edition of Issues in Accounting Education, a publication of the American Accounting Association.
