Biography

Dr. Michelle Juarez received her doctoral degree from the University of Southern California, with a focus on educational psychology/higher education leadership. In January 2020, she became the Founding Director of Academic Support and Advising at the new Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine in Pasadena, California, where she develops and oversees academic advising, academic support initiatives, and disability access for medical students. Dr. Juarez’s dissertation titled, “And Still We Rise: Examining the Strengths of First-Generation College Students,” examines the Community Cultural Wealth that first-generation college students bring with them to college to succeed.
