Mike Molesworth

Associate Professor at Birmingham Business School

Biography

I have 22 years experience of teaching marketing-related subjects and undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and started teaching digital marketing in 1998. I have also undertaken many consultancy projects on consumer insights and marketing strategy, especially based on translating academic research for practitioner use. I ran a university-based consultancy unit for 4 years connecting academics and students with industry. My academic research is best viewed on Google Scholar, but includes aspects of digital consumption and ownership of digital goods, the marketisation of Higher Education, play and video game consumption, consumption and the imagination, post-psychoanalytic applications in marketplace relationships, and most recently the connections between marketing and CSR especially relating to digital technologies. I am familiar with qualitative methods including phenomenology, practice theory, ANT and netnography.
