Mike Nawas is appointed Associate Professor of Financial Markets for the Center for Finance at Nyenrode in 2012. In the financial markets he is a widely recognized leader. Financial News, the Dow Jones publication, named Mike in 2008 in the top 10 of most influential people in European Capital Markets. Mike holds a Masters Degree (1989) and Ph.D. (1995) from the Faculties of Economics and Social Sciences at Tilburg University, the Netherlands.

Mike is the founder of Bishopsfield Capital Partners (BCP). Prior to founding BCP, he worked at ABN AMRO, the international Dutch bank. In 2007, ABN AMRO was acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland and during 2008 and 2009 Mike performed dual roles at ABN AMRO as Global Head of Credit Markets Origination and at RBS as Global Head of Corporate and Structured DCM.

  During his 20 years at ABN AMRO, Mike worked in various structured finance areas including structured and syndicated lending, project, commodity and ECA finance, debt capital markets, emerging markets and, most notably, securitization. He was appointed Global Head of Securitization in 2003 and soon after that broadened his role to become Global Head of Fixed Income Capital Markets and Structured Finance. So, from 2004 onward he has led the bank''s origination business across the entire spectrum of credit products and in a great variety of geographies. He had a 750 person team in 25 countries.
