Biography
-
I’m a philosopher interested in how scientists think.
I draw on historical sources, social scientific methods, and results from cognitive science to inform philosophical analyses of how scientists use tools like artificial intelligence, computer simulations, thought experiments, visualizations, metaphors, and models.
I’m especially interested in how imagination plays a role in scientific thinking, and how AI is changing that role. Increasingly, I am concerned about the ethics of science, and non-scientific uses of AI.
