Biography

IE Business School

Moray works with partner and leadership groups as they review their options for growth then put that into practice. He also assists global firms as they enter new markets. Over recent years, he has worked extensively in fast-moving markets such as Africa, India and Latin America.

Moray was the inaugural Chair of the Strategy Group of the IBA´s Law Firm Management Committee. He recently became the President of the Advisory Board of Law Without Walls a global forum bringing together law firms, law faculties and business schools, investors and alternative legal providers to address change and innovation within legal services.

A lawyer by training, he completed an MBA in legal services before assisting one of the London law firms on their global expansion. Within law firm consulting, he was a co-Founder of Iberian Legal Group (acquired by LC Publishing Group), Redstone Consultants (acquired by Acritas – now part of Thomson Reuters) and Lexington Consultants (where he still practices).

For over a decade, Moray has been an Associate Professor at IE Business School in Madrid teaching negotiation skills on their MBA program in Madrid and executive education programmes for businesses around the world. He also designed and led IE´s Lawyers´ Management Program (LMP) for law firm leaders and General Counsel globally.

He is a regular conference speaker on law firm management and guest lecturer at universities such as Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Kings College London, St Gallen University in Switzerland, University College London and Harvard University. He delivers “the business of law” and “building your business” workshops to newly appointed partners at a number of top law firms.

An accredited mediator and executive coach, Moray recently became a Fellow of Harvard´s Institute of Coaching. He publishes widely on innovation within law and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Modern Legal Practice.
