Teaching and Research: Teaching: Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Natural Product and other organic chemistry related subjects. Research: As a synthetic organic and medicinal chemist, I have a strong interest to work in the field of target oriented drug design and development, Synthetic Organic/Medicinal, Heterocyclic and Natural product chemistry. For the last 11 years, I have been involved in Organic and Medicinal chemistry excluding my PhD experience. It is really a challenging field because besides chemistry we need knowledge about other areas such as interpretation of information from computational chemists (molecular modeling), biologists (for in vitro and in vivo results), clinical chemists etc. After collecting the information from SAR data, we can achieve a lead drug candidate. I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for two years where, I was fully devoted to this field. During my PhD as well as my pharmaceutical industry experience, the work was on the synthesis of anticancer inhibitors for particular cell lines. So, it is my interest to design synthetic routes by making synthons, synthesizing target molecules, solving challenging synthetic problems, SAR analysis to improve drug-like properties etc. Specialties: Organic and Medicinal chemistry: Synthesis of anti-microbial, anti-cancer, anti-malarial, anti-retroviral agent M.Sc.
