University of Miami Business School
Nan Yang, a professor of management, is distinguished for her extensive research in areas such as inventory management, integrated supply and demand management, and supply risk management. Her innovative work, exploring optimal contract design to mitigate supply risk and information asymmetry in supply chains, has been published in esteemed journals such as Management Science and Operations Research. In the classroom at the University of Miami, where she has been since 2016, she integrates her research into her teachings, providing students with real-world examples and motivations for various topics in operations and supply chain management. Yang, who earned her Ph.D. in decision, risk, and operations from Columbia University in 207, continues to explore impactful projects, including the study of power rebalancing in the pharmaceutical supply chain by online discount programs and large online retailers, and its consequential socio-economic implications. Prior to joining Miami Herbert in 2016, she taught at Cornell University and Washington University in St. Louis.
