Experience
Nancy is a Senior Faculty at the San Diego campus of the Center for Creative Leadership. She facilitates open enrollment programs as well as designs and delivers customized solutions for market-leading companies operating the US and globally. Prior to joining CCL in 1994, Nancy was a Commissioned Officer in the United States Navy. As Director of the Mental Health Unit at the Naval Training Center San Diego, she was responsible for overseeing services to a group of 20,000 active duty personnel. Her military service provided first-hand experience of working within organizational hierarchy and politics as well as proficiency in teamwork and crossfunctional collaboration. Following the military, Nancy co-founded Applied Psychometrics, a consulting firm with a specialization in assessment for selection and development. In addition she has worked as a sports psychologist, assisting athletes and teams to maximize their talents for optimal performance. In conjunction with the Stanford Graduate School of Business, she designed and delivered a creative Golf & Leadership workshop.
Nancy brings over 25 years of diverse experience in people development to her work at CCL. Her career focus is understanding human behavior and she leverages that knowledge to enable individuals and teams to discover new possibilities and solutions to organizational challenges. Her expertise is coaching senior leaders and C-suite executives. Nancy quickly establishes trust with clients and helps them to grow bigger minds to deal with the ever-increasing complexity and volatility in today’s business world.
Current Role
In addition to custom design and delivery, Nancy is a lead faculty for CCL’s flagship program, the Leadership Development Program, and for Leading for Organizational Impact, a feedback-rich simulation for leaders who are responsible for organizational functions, divisions or business units. She is certified in many psychometric and 360-degree instruments that can yield useful perspectives in these explorations. Her clients have crossed multiple industries including finance, manufacturing, biotechnology and pharmaceutical science, hospitality, consumer goods and governmental agencies. She consistently helps leaders to find practical ways of sustaining existing business with limited resources and regulatory standards while simultaneiously driving growth for the future.
Educational Background
Nancy received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Connecticut, a Masters from Loyola Marymount University, and a Ph.D. from Alliant International University. She holds a California Psychology License and she is a Board Certified Coach (BCC) through the Center for Credentialing and Education.
Professional Affiliations
Nancy is a member of the Society for Consulting Psychology, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and several professional associations for which she has served in Board positions including President. Her avocation is golf and she has played some of the most recognized courses in the US and Scotland.
