Biography
Dr. Nancy Pawlyshyn joined Northeastern as a part-time lecturer in 2011 and became full-time faculty in 2013, promoted in 2017 to Associate Teaching Professor in Graduate and Professional Studies at the College of Professional Studies. Nancy teaches in the Master’s in Leadership program, and has taught in the Graduate School of Education, and the Doctor of Law and Policy programs. She has advised doctoral students in the EdD, Organizational Leadership Studies concentration since Fall 2016.
Dr. Pawlyshyn served as special academic officer to the dean of the College from 2013-2016 advancing faculty affairs initiatives including: development of the Faculty Academic Council and its standing committees; the peer-reviewed promotion process; the Faculty Fund; and the annual, faculty-led Fall CPS Faculty Conference. For the past two years, she has chaired the Faculty Development and Support Committee of the FAC advancing initiatives with that committee such as First Tuesdays Faculty Conversations Series, New Faculty Onboarding, and an emerging ePortfolio for CPS faculty to share best practices in teaching and Learning. She has also taught in the NU Global Leadership program at Vietnam International University and at Swinburne University of Technology in Australia.
Before coming to Northeastern, Dr. Pawlyshyn was chief assessment officer and associate provost at Mercy College, NY; dean of Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts and Physical Education at San Jose Evergreen Community College District, California; and chair and assistant professor in the Department of Communications at Simmons College, Boston. She earned a PhD with distinction in Professional Studies in Education from Capella University, and also holds an MS in Communications Management and a BA in English and Government, both from Simmons College.
Pawlyshyn's research focuses on faculty work and engagement with innovations in teaching and learning and assessment practice, and she has published and presented at over two dozen national and international conferences on this topic.
