Biography
School of International and Public Affairs
Naomi Weinberger ’s primary academic interests are in international security studies, with expertise in the Middle East. Her publications include Syrian Intervention in Lebanon (Oxford University Press) and many articles on global peace operations and conflict resolution. She is currently pursuing research on Palestinian security sector reform and on the regional implications of the Syrian uprising.
Dr. Weinberger is Adjunct Professor at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) of Columbia University, offering courses on the Middle East at SIPA and on global governance at Columbia’s Picker Center for Executive Education. She served as Director of the UN Studies Program at SIPA (2000-2003) and has also taught at Colgate and Yale Universities.
