Nelson Cruz Soares

Dr. Nelson Alexandre da Cruz Soares has received his PhD from New University of Lisbon-Instituto de Tecnologia Quimica e Biologica (ITQB) for Biochemistry in 2008. He has lived and study/worked in six different countries Portugal (his home country), England (Bsc), Spain (Postdoc), Germany (Postdoc) and South Africa (junior research fellow). He is now an Assistant Professor at College of Pharmacy, University of Sharjah-United Arab Emirates. Current research interests among others are proteomics, metabolomics, mass spectrometry, antimicrobial resistance and Human disease biomarkers. He is currently mainly interest in employing high-resolution mass spectrometry based techniques to identify biomarkers for non-communicable diseases.
