Research Summary
I am currently working on three projects: on the historical development and institutional drivers of conceptions of criminal responsibility; with David Soskice, on ''American Exceptionalism'' in crime, punishment and indices of inequality such as residential segregation and child poverty; and with Hanna Pickard (Birmingham and Oxford) on the philosophy and psychology of punishment.
