Nicolai Pogrebnyakov

Research and teach in the areas of high tech strategy, strategy implementation, social media and international business strategy, using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods. Supervise 5 - 7 student theses a year.

Main accomplishments: * Created a set of tools to collect and analyze social media posts. Outcomes of this work have been presented at 3 conferences in the past 2 years. * Self-taught user of data analytics methods and technologies: machine learning algorithms such as SVM, k-means cluster and logistic regression, deep learning in Spark, MLlib, R, Python * Recipient of an “Excellence in Teaching” award

The yin: Award-winning business school professor. I research and teach in three areas of how today's organizations work: what strategies they formulate, how they implement their strategies and how they manage innovation. In this I work with both companies and nonprofits. I teach and advise students from bachelor's to executive, and teach an online course at Coursera.

The yang: Applied AI researcher specializing in natural language processing. I unleash AI and machine learning algorithms on business and organizational problems. Comfortable end to end, from identifying addressable issues to creating a solution in TensorFlow. I'm currently focusing on the analysis of social media data. Have contributed insights from these analyses to numerous research and consulting projects.
