Biography

I am a Biomedical Scientist specializing in Translational and Cancer Research. I completed my Ph.D. at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. My work was truly translational, focusing on viral characteristics of HPV+ and HPV- Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinomas and clinical outcome of these patients. ! spent three years at Fordham University (Meneses Lab) where I am taught Introductory Biology I and II and continued developing my analysis and research skills. I am now a postdoctral traniee at the National Institutes of Health where I am researching the papillomavirus lifecycle. I was originally motivated to start a science career in order to contribute to making the world a better place. I hope to do so through continued Oncology work, clinical and translational data analysis and dissemination, and helping spread awareness of science to the public. Laboratory Techniques: DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, adapter-ligation PCR, cell culture, 3-D cell culture, angiogenesis assays, cell invasion assays, karyotyping, SDS-PAGE, western blot, Southern blot, chromatin immunoprecipitation, viral production and titration, flow cytometry.
