Biography

Nicolette Lecturer in Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit. She is a general practitioner from London.

Dr Nicolette Ray trained as a Family Medicine doctor at King’s College, London and subsequently practiced in London, in both the NHS and private sector. She moved to Hong Kong in 2010 and has been teaching at HKU for several years. She took up a joint lecturer position in both the Department of Medical Ethics and Humanities and the Department of Family Medicine and Primary care in 2019.

Nicolette has always been interested in wellbeing and the holistic care of patients. She intercalated in nutrition and emphasised diet, exercise and emotional health when caring for her patients. More recently she has developed an interest in spiritual health. She is a regular yoga practitioner and meditator and has trained as a Reiki Master. Nicolette lives in Hong Kong with her husband Raj, who works in HR and their 15 year old daughter. Their 19 year old son is studying the humanities at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
