Dr. Noreen Stewart is dedicating her career to empowering young people to unlock their potential, overcome their unique challenges and grow into confident, independent learners. Dr. Stewart is currently a school psychologist at Bay Ridge Preparatory in Brooklyn, New York and an Adjunct Professor at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. At Bay Ridge Prep Dr. Stewart specializes in the creation and implementation of individualized student academic programs for students with learning and attentional deficits. She synthesizes a variety of experiences to work with children, teens and their families, in addition to coordinating with outside private therapists and related services providers (e.g. speech and language pathologists, counselors, etc.). She primarily works with adolescents dealing with learning disabilities within a general education private high school. At NYU, she teaches graduate students earning advanced degrees in counseling and guidance how to assess and evaluate the diverse needs of children and adolescents (Department of Applied Psychology).
Dr. Stewart earned her doctorate in School Psychology, Professional Diploma in School Psychology and Masters of Science in Education in Therapeutic Interventions from Fordham University. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Human Development & Psychological Services at Northwestern University. Her professional experiences and training include: learning disabilities, psychoeducational assessment, group therapy, child & adolescent psychotherapy, family therapy and school consultation.
