Norman Li

Dr. Norman Li (李品正) holds a BA in economics from Northwestern University, an MBA in finance from the University of Michigan, and an MA and PhD in social psychology from Arizona State University. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Li worked as an investment consultant in Chicago and taught economics and finance. He was an Assistant Professor in the psychology department at the University of Texas at Austin before joining Singapore Management University, where he was awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Fellowship for Research Excellence in 2011.

Dr. Li adopts a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of human behavior, integrating economic concepts and tools, evolutionary theory, and social psychological experimental methodology. His research focuses on mate selection and mating strategies, and on problems at the individual, organizational, and societal level caused by the mismatch between evolved psychological mechanisms and modern living, social, and work environments. Dr. Li’s 90+ peer-reviewed journal articles and chapters appear in top outlets such as Psychological Review, Psychological Bulletin, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Psychological Science, and Current Directions in Psychological Science.
