Pankaj Patel (PhD, University of Louisville) is the Frank J. and Jane E. Ryan Endowed Chair, Professor in Strategy and Innovation at Villanova University in Villanova School of Business.

His research interests focus on innovation, governance, and entrepreneurship. He currently serves as an action editor at Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice and is on the editorial boards of several top management journals. He is currently working on a grant from the Kamprad Foundation (IKEA) for the commercialization of medical technology. He recently received a grant to improve female participation in the upper echelons of firms in Portugal.

He has published over 200 articles and was recognized among the top 2% of social scientists in the world for 2021 in a study by Elsevier and Stanford University. His articles have appeared in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory, and Practice, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Operations Management, Management Science, Production and Operations Management, and Strategic Management Journal, among others.
