Biography
Dr. Patrick Badolato earned BS degrees in Accounting and Economics from Villanova University and a Ph.D. in Accounting from Duke University in 2010. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., Patrick worked in the assurance and tax practices for Ernst & Young in Philadelphia, PA where he earned his CPA license. Patrick's research interests center around corporate governance, financial reporting choices and the use of financial information. Patrick's research has been published in the Journal of Accounting and Economics. Patrick’s teaching expertise focuses on Financial Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis. He has taught in the University of Texas at Austin's Executive MBA, Daytime MBA, Evening MBA, Dallas MBA, Houston MBA, Master of Professional Accounting, Master of Science in Technology Commercialization, and undergraduate programs. At Duke University he taught in the undergraduate program and a pre-term course for the Executive and Daytime MBA programs at the Fuqua School of Business. Patrick served as the consultant for the Harvard Business School’s Financial Accounting course in its newly developed HBX program and is currently working as a tax and financial accounting consultant for Harvard Business Publishing's Core Curriculum materials, a series of curated and adaptable readings that will offer a comprehensive and cost-effective textbook replacement for MBA audiences. Patrick’s attraction to academia stems from the unique opportunity to constantly learn from and give back to the greater research community, his colleagues, and his students.
