Mr. Catenacci serves as the Firm’s Chief Operations Officer, and leads the Firm’s ERISA Practice Group. Mr. Catenacci focuses his practice on all areas of employee benefits law. He regularly advises fringe benefit plans across the country on the full range of issues that affect these plans, including plan design, plan drafting, claims and appeals procedures, plan mergers, and plan terminations. He also represents various clients with respect to complex alternative investments in the context of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Internal Revenue Code (IRC). He works with Qualified Plan Asset Managers (QPAMs), Venture Capital Operating Companies (VCOCs), Real Estate Operating Companies (REOCs) and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), as well as fund of funds investment vehicles employing master/feeder structures.
Mr. Catenacci also deals routinely with a variety of matters related to insurance and real property. He has extensive experience reviewing policies for commercial general liability, fiduciary liability, fidelity bonds, and auto coverage for his clients. He is also experienced in preparing commercial lease agreements, mortgage and related security instruments, and commercial lending and loan agreements. Prior to joining the Firm, he defended surplus line insurance carriers and worked on matters involving commercial carrier auto accidents, premises liability, auto accident litigation arising under liquor liability/dram shop policies, and litigation related to insurers of personal protection services.
Mr. Catenacci speaks at national and local conferences on a variety of matters related to employee benefits, as well as insurance matters that pertain to employee benefit plans. Mr. Catenacci also authors educational pieces for his clients and for national organizations providing guidance in the area of employee benefits. He also holds an inactive Top Secret/SCI level security clearance with full scope polygraph.
