Paul M. Friedman, MD, is a Board-Certified Houston Dermatologist, and the director of Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center. Dr. Friedman has held many senior positions in the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, most recently President.

Dr. Friedman is a leading authority on skin rejuvenation and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures, as well as an experienced researcher and physician in the field of dermatologic surgery. He has been featured in several media outlets and is a frequent guest on Doctor Radio’s Dermatology Show. Dr. Friedman is dedicated to research and patient education, which is evident in his prolific authorship of over 100 medical articles and textbook contributions. He co-wrote Beautiful Skin Revealed: The Ultimate Guide to Better Skin and is co-Editor of the textbook Lasers and Light Source Treatment For The Skin. Dr. Friedman is also a contributing author and featured expert on WikiHow, where he has shared his insight on a number of topics, including How to Have a Good Face Care Routine and How to Determine Skin Tone.

Dr. Friedman’s expertise has been recognized with many awards and honors, including the prestigious 2019 Leon Goldman Memorial Award from the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery (ASLMS). He has also been named by Newsweek as one of America’s Best Cosmetic Dermatologists of 2022, with specific recognition as one of the Best Dermatologists for Laser Treatments. Dr. Friedman was recognized as one of Medscape’s Physicians of the Year: The Best of 2022 for his philanthropic campaign as President of American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery and awarded Physician of the Year 2022 by The Vascular Birthmarks Foundation for outstanding achievement in the diagnosis and treatment of children and adults affected by vascular birthmark, anomaly, or associated syndrome.

Dr. Friedman’s professional accomplishments include serving on the ASLMS Board of Directors and as Co-Chair for the Cutaneous Laser Surgery Section of several annual ASLMS conferences, and as a current member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery. He has been featured as a speaker nationally and internationally for several professional organizations, including the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Friedman is a faculty member for the Procedural Dermatology Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center and also serves as one of the fellowship directors for the ASDS-accredited cosmetic dermatologic surgery fellowship program. He is a clinical assistant professor of dermatology at the University of Texas Medical School and clinical assistant professor of dermatology at the Weill Cornell Medical College, Houston Methodist Hospital. In addition to seeing patients at Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center, Dr. Friedman is also on staff at Memorial-Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center and Texas Children’s Hospital.
