Peg Carlson

Peg Carlson is director of the School of Government’s Center for Public Leadership and Governance, a new initiative designed to integrate, coordinate, and expand the School’s leadership, governance, and management programs and scholarship. Carlson rejoined the School of Government in September 2015, after serving on the faculty from 1992–2000. Prior to her return to the School, she was an executive consultant with Roger Schwarz & Associates and worked with a wide variety of public, private, and nonprofit organizations as a facilitator, trainer, coach, and consultant to help them build effective leadership teams. She has published articles on developing effective groups, assessing the chief executive’s performance, and multi-rater feedback and is co-author of The Skilled Facilitator Fieldbook: Tips, Tools, and Tested Methods for Consultants, Facilitators, Managers, Trainers, and Coaches (Jossey-Bass, 2005). Carlson received a BA in psychology from the University of Minnesota and an AM and PhD in organizational psychology from the University of Michigan.
