Professor Peter Hills is the Director of the Kadoorie Institute at The University of Hong Kong. He was formerly Director of the University's Centre of Urban Planning and Environmental Management from 1992 to 2008.

Professor Hills has been actively involved in teaching and research in the area of environmental policy for more than 30 years. His research work has focused on energy and the environment, sustainable development, environmental policy making in Hong Kong, and, more recently, on climate change impacts.

He has acted as a consultant to various international agencies including the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations Development Programme and the European Union. He has also served on a number of advisory and statutory bodies in Hong Kong, including the Advisory Council on the Environment, the Energy Advisory Committee and the Town Planning Board.
