Dr. Steinberg is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Steinberg completed his internship and a urology residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. He subsequently completed a fellowship in robotics, laparoscopy and endourology at the Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein School of Medicine in Bronx, New York.

Dr. Steinberg is the director of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center program in endourology and kidney stone management. He is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with kidney stones and other urologic disorders. He is also the Co-Director of the BIDMC Urology Minimally Invasive Fellowship Program.
