Biography
GIBS Business School
Since June 2007, Pieter Pretorius has been a freelance educator teaching at UP’s engineering faculty, at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, all on Masters level. His subjects include operations management and project management.
He is involved in continuous education at GIBS as well as the Graduate School of Technology Management at UP. Subjects include: operations management; project management; critical chain project management and logistics engineering.
Pieter is also involved with THRIP contract work and research supervision at North West University (NWU) and acts as external examiner for various university business schools. He also acts as consultant to industry on operations and operations management issues.

- System thinking and constraints management application in the business environment. Special interests in the following areas of system thinking:

- Systems thinking in operations management (including logistics);
- Operations strategy development; and
- Critical chain project management.
