Pris Rogers studies writing and speaking as management activities to get work done through people. Issues of efficiency, politeness, empathy, and reporting bad news have been her special interests. For example, she has proposed decision-making tools for improving the effectiveness of subordinate reporting of bad news to superiors, of call center agent handling of highly conflicted calls with customers, and of CEOs presenting poor earnings to analysts. One of her current studies examines how project teams' formal communications with their clients--including project scoping documents, status reports, and the final presentations--contribute to conducting the project work itself.
Pris teaches Communication for the Global Manager and Communication Management, courses focusing on recurring management activities. She is one of the two faculty members overseeing the Ross’s Global MBA Multidisciplinary Action Projects.
