• Prepared affidavits for Non-Infringement, Prior Art and Competition aspects of the patents
• Prepared and delivered tutorials to help the Court with understanding the underlying technologies related to the patents
• Prepared and delivered short courses to help solicitors and barristers with their understanding of underlying technologies related to the patents
• Prepared joint reports with other expert witnesses and debated the merits of the patents and prior art at the Court under oath

July 2002 – January 2006: Associate Professor, Keio University, Japan

• On the technology side, led a group of more than 30 researchers on several projects pertaining to 3G and 4G mobile communications systems
• On the business side, promoted entrepreneurship at Keio University through partnership with other labs to bring ideas to products and build new ventures
   

October 2002 – August 2006: Technical Advisor (interim CTO), IPMobile Inc., Japan

• Obtained frequency spectrum license through presentation and discussions (in Japanese) with the Ministry of Public Management and Home Affairs
• Led R&D for TD-CDMA and Ad-Hoc network equipment development. Applied (jointly) for 15 patent applications
• Contributed to raising of some $100 million in investment for the company
   

June 2000 – May 2002: Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Genista Corporation, Tokyo, Japan

• Led research and development activities for new products, leading to major innovations in radio resource management. Applied (jointly) for 11 patent applications
• Contributed to raising of some $10 million in investment for the company

May 1996 – May 2000: Research and Development Management, Nippon Ericsson, Tokyo and Yokosuka, Japan, and Ericsson Radio Systems AB, Sweden

• Founded and headed the research unit of Nippon Ericsson
• Evaluated methods of CDMA communications towards adaptation of the 3G standards. Proposed new methods for WCDMA systems, led to more than 15 patents
