School of International and Public Affairs

Robert Boccio is Of Counsel at the New York-based law firm of Shaub, Ahmuty, Citrin & Spratt, LLP, where he represents clients in high-exposure, complex litigation matters.  In addition to guiding clients through State and Federal court actions, he also advises clients on risk management issues; serves as a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals for his village; and enforces village codes and ordinances as a village prosecutor.  Additionally, Mr. Boccio presently serves as a Nassau County Republican Committeeman and was a former Mayoral candidate of his village–one of the largest in New York State.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Boccio held management positions in several New York City Agencies under both the Giuliani and Bloomberg administrations. Notably, just prior to entering the private sector, Mr. Boccio was appointed as one of the youngest Executive Directors in the history of the NYC Department of Juvenile Justice, where he was credited with reducing assaults and altercations by an unprecedented 62% by focusing on process improvement and metrics-based management techniques. Moreover, he has extensive experience in both legal and management negotiations, as well as working with labor unions.

Mr. Boccio earned a B.A. in Economics and English from NYU; was a Public Service Fellow and Law School Scholar at New York Law School; and a Fellow at Columbia University''s School of International & Public Affairs, where he obtained his Master of Public Administration degree in 1997 with a concentration in advanced management techniques.
