Biography
Robert Ginsburg is an attorney, risk manager, and political economist who is an expert on all stages of cross-border transactions. Since 1999, Robert has advised foreign investors and host governments on the financial rewards and political, economic, and legal/regulatory risks associated with doing business in foreign markets. He currently manages a boutique law and consulting firm (RBG Global) that focuses on foreign investment and trade projects. Prior to starting RBG Global, Robert managed the foreign direct investment program for the State of Illinois. As FDI manager, Robert devised and implemented a strategy for improving the state’s investment climate and attracting investment to Illinois. While working for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and the US Department of State, he represented foreign investors and host governments in disputes arising out of international investment treaties. Before starting his legal career, Robert focused on country risk management for ACE insurance and Aon. He holds a JD from Georgetown Law Center and an MA in International Relations from American University. He also is a regular contributor to Forbes and has written for the Financial Times.
