Cork University Business School

Robert Lynch is a PhD Scholar in the Department of Management and Marketing, Cork University Business School (CUBS), UCC.

His PhD research is focused on Talent Management within the Maritime Sector and is supervised by Dr Ronan Carbery and Professor Anthony McDonnell. Prior to completing his doctoral studies, Robert completed a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management in the University of Limerick, obtaining First Class Honours and was awarded the outstanding scholar award. Robert also completed undergraduate studies in the University of Limerick and Cork Institute of Technology, obtaining First Class Honours in both. Professionally, Robert works as a research project manager for the Halpin Research Centre at the National Maritime College of Ireland, managing a number of EU funded research and lecturing commitments. He also fulfils a number of part time lecturing roles with UCC and UL.

Prior to fulfilling research functions, Robert served in the Defence Forces as a Naval Officer for twelve years. During this time he fulfilled a number of operational, HRM and learning and development roles.
