Robert Taggart

Robert A. Taggart is Professor of Finance at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. He also serves as Boston College’s faculty athletics representative. He served as Interim Dean of the Carroll School during 1999-2000 and as Associate Dean for Graduate Programs from 2000 to 2006. He has held previous faculty appointments at Boston University (1983-89) and Northwestern University (1974-83). He has also held visiting appointments at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston (1976-77), Harvard Business School (1982-84) and M.I.T.s Sloan School of Management (1987-88). He served as Editor of Financial Management from 1984 to 1987 and as President of the Financial Management Association during 1989-90. He is currently Corporate Finance Editor for the Journal of Economics and Business.

Professor Taggart received his B.A. in mathematics from Amherst College and his Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His primary teaching and research interests are in corporate finance and capital markets. His publications have appeared in the Journal of Finance, Financial Management, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Financial Analysts Journal and other journals in finance and economics. He is the author of Quantitative Analysis for Investment Management (Prentice-Hall,1996).
