Biography

Academic Division: Accounting & LawProfessor Turner joined the Babson Faculty in 1990. He previously taught at Boston College, Boston University, and LeMoyne College. His teaching interests are in the area of corporate and not-for-profit financial reporting. He has taught financial accounting at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He was part of the design team for the new MBA core in the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. Prior to entering the teaching profession Professor Turner worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, at LeMoyne College as Director of Financial Aid, and at Boston College as Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid. Professor Turner has published numerous articles on financial reporting, primarily in the areas of reporting by not-for-profit organizations, and accounting education. He has also presented on these topics at regional and national conferences. He is active in providing professional development programs nationally for public accounting firms and also teaches programs for corporations and firms including Fidelity, Eaton Vance and EMC. Professor Turner is currently assistant dean for recruitment for the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. He was named Outstanding Educator of the Year in 1995 by the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s and is the recipient of the Distinguished Alum Award from LeMoyne College. He was twice named professor of the year by the undergraduate students at Babson College and was the recipient of the Walter H. Carpenter Prize awarded for exceptional contributions to Babson College. Professor Turner is a member of the Board of Trustees of LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY and is the treasurer and member of the board of the Gifford School in Weston, MA.
