Zicklin School of Business
Romi Kher is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business, City University Of New York. He is the faculty Director of the MakerHub, Baruch’s resident makerspace for technology, design, and entrepreneurship and teaches undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses in entrepreneurial strategy, social entrepreneurship and technology innovation and design. Romi received his PhD in Applied Economics & Management from Cornell University with a specialization in applied econometrics. His research focuses on new venture creation and interactions among entrepreneurs, startups, and external resources providers in the innovation ecosystem can impact startup success. Romi is on the editorial review board at Small Business Economics and his research can be found in quality journals such as the Journal of Business Venturing, Small Business Economics, and Entrepreneurship Research Journal, amongst others. His recent publications investigate the role of Blockchains and ICOs in digital fundraising and in 2021, he also won the Best Social Entrepreneurship paper award at the Academy of Management Annual Conference.
In addition to his academic endeavors, Romi is an early-stage angel investor and advisor to several startups. While at Cornell University, he founded the internationally renowned podcast series, 10GoodMinutes. He is also a frequent media contributor to the History Channel and appears as a business expert on television shows such as The Foods That Built America and The Machines That Built America.
