Ron Cichy

Dr. Ronald F. Cichy is the director and a professor in The School of Hospitality Business in the Eli Broad College of Business, a position in which he has served at his alma mater since 1988. Dr. Cichy is a frequent speaker at annual conferences, meetings and institutes for businesses ranging from Fortune 500 companies to the hospitality industry. His work on four continents has developed managers and leaders, team builders and trainers, and helped businesses become high performance organizations.

Dr. Cichy’s most recent books published in 2010 are Managing Beverage Operations, Second Edition, co-authored with Lendal Kotschevar; and Your Emerging Leadership Journey co-authored with John H. King, Jr. He also serves on the boards of several hospitality industry institutes, foundations and associations. In 1999, the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association honored him as the Outstanding Hospitality Educator with the Lamp of Knowledge Award. In 2001, Dr. Cichy was inducted into The School of Hospitality Business Alumni Association’s Wall of Fame Class of Contributors.
