TIAS School for Business and Society

Ronald Mahieu is professor of Finance and Innovation at TIAS School for Business and Society. He is also the director of theBusiness Analytics Lab, which focuses on research activities in the fields of big data, predictive analytics, and corporate data management. Before joining TIAS on the Tilburg University campus, Dr. Mahieu was a professor of Entrepreneurial Finance at Eindhoven University of Technology, and an associate professor of finance and financial econometrics at RSM Erasmus University, and Tilburg University. He received his Ph.D in 1995 from Maastricht University. During his Ph.D studies he was a visiting scholar in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. Dr. Mahieu holds a Master degree in econometrics from Erasmus University.

Dr. Mahieu regularly teaches in both undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate and executive programmes. His most recent teaching activities are focused on business analytics, risk management, (entrepreneurial) finance, and decision-making under uncertainty.

In addition to his academic activities Dr. Mahieu has worked as a consultant/teacher for companies like Abp/APG, Shell Pensioenfonds, Hoogovens, Fortis, ABN Amro, Philips, Essent, Eneco, Nuon, and the Dutch Ministry of Finance.
