Ross Depinto

Professor, College of Business at Western Governors University

Biography

Data scientist and educator with experience in corporate, academic, and non-profit environments.

I have over 20 years of experience in data science, statistics, machine learning, strategic planning, research methodology, information technology, the social/behavioral sciences, and corporate finance. With this robust background, I address most business challenges with a multidisciplinary approach.

Over the course of my career, I have adopted the practice of examining an organization’s data from a social/behavioral science perspective. One basic definition of behavior is: the action or reaction in response to a stimulus.

So, we can say that any organization’s historical performance data is a collection of behavioral responses to its products, services, and activities.

Adopting this perspective expands the possibilities of how one analyzes, reports, and presents results, as well as how one designs the most appropriate interventions. I believe this approach enhances my professional practices.
