Biography
Dutch artist Rudolf Laane (1961) creates sculptures in marble, bronze and glass. His works are classical with a contemporary touch. The majority of his work expresses both feminine and masculine elements, thus creating a compelling narrative.
His work is wide ranging and touches upon themes as identity, femininity/masculinity and nature. He experiments with digital 3D-techniques in order to re-invent the classical art of mould making.
After an engaged business career (in roles like vice president of a large international consulting practice and ceo of an academic start-up), Rudolf is now active as a sculptor. Born in the south of the Netherlands, Rudolf has cultivated his passion for art from early onwards. In 2012, he continued his creative development at the Academy of Fine Arts in Laren in the Netherlands. Rudolf is now chairman of their executive board.
Rudolf's artworks are shown in art shows in the Netherlands and abroad; he is a member of the National Artist Association in the Netherlands.
Curious in nature, Rudolf is always looking for new knowledge and new experiences.
