Wisconsin School of Business
Russell Epp is a lecturer in the Accounting and Information Systems Department at the Wisconsin School of Business. Russell teaches topics covering financial reporting and managerial accounting at the MBA and undergraduate levels at Wisconsin. He received the Mabel W. Chipman Outstanding Academic Staff Teaching Award in 2016 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to fulfilling the mission of the Wisconsin School of Business through excellence in teaching. Russell began teaching at the School of Business in 2012 and has served as the faculty advisor to the student chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (The IMA) since 2013.
Russell brings extensive industry knowledge and experience to the classroom. Prior to working at the School of Business he worked for Alliant Energy Corporation (Alliant) as the Manager of Internal Audits. Before joining Alliant, Russell was a Manager with the Audit Enterprise Risk Services (AERS) group of Deloitte & Touche (Deloitte). Prior to public accounting, Russell worked as a post-graduate technical assistant for the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
Russell graduated from Hastings College in 1999 with a major in Professional Accounting. In 2001 Russell graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a master’s degree in Professional Accountancy. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
