Sabrina’s work is focused on the improved education of students of color and all students who need an excellent education to survive in school and in life. She is an accomplished strategist, facilitator and public speaker. She enjoys working with individuals and teams interested in tackling equity, achievement, diversity and race and writing on these topics.

Her early work with incarcerated children accused of committing serious crimes informed her understanding that all students must experience a meaningful education connected to their experience as a precursor to realizing the potential of education in their own lives. As an assistant professor at the University of Illinois in Chicago and associate professor at Hofstra University, she trained future teachers and administrators in the areas of curriculum, instruction and diversity. She has held significant leadership positions at the school, district and university level. Prior to founding ATAPE Group in 2012, she served as Chief Academic Officer in the Office of Curriculum and Professional Development at the NYCDOE where she was able to impact the work of over 1600 school communities in the areas of curriculum, professional development and educational equity.

Sabrina is an adjunct professor of leadership at Fordham University and she serves on the board of the Rensselaerville Institute.
