Melbourne Business School

Sam Wylie is an academic, teacher and finance industry consultant. Dr Wylie is an expert in the theory and practice of wealth management, banking, corporate finance and the GFC. He is a a Principal Fellow of the Melbourne Business School and an Associate Professor of the University of Melbourne.

Sam has been an academic at leading global business schools for twenty years. He was an Assistant Professor at the Tuck School of Business from 1997-2004 (rated the world's best business school by the WSJ in 2014). He obtained his PhD from the London Business School and also has a Master of Economics degree from ANU and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from UWA.

Sam's research has focused on the incentives of portfolio managers, optimal choices in portfolio management and the stability of the financial system. He teaches courses in banking, financial engineering and corporate finance at the Melbourne Business School. He is the eight times winner of Melbourne Business School's Teaching Excellence Award.

Sam has worked with many banks, superannuation funds and corporations in Australia and the region, including: AustralianSuper, NAB, ANZ, UOB, AMP, Merrill Lynch, Franklin Templeton, BHP, CSR, Leightons, Resource Capital Fund, Greenway Capital and many others. His commentary appears regularly in the Australian Financial Review, The Conversation and national radio and television.

Sam is the founder of Windlestone Education which delivers advice and programs in strategy, corporate finance, banking and wealth management.
