After a master's degree in data processing at the University of Lille and a master's degree in Data and eBusiness at Skema Business School, Samir started at Accenture Interactive as a data scientist. In 2007, he joined a Parisian subsidiary of the Japanese telecom operator, NTT DoComo, as a data research engineer. In 2010, he joined the Publicis group, where he was initially in charge of Data Science in a technology subsidiary of the group, where he became CEO in 2013 before being appointed shortly afterwards Chief Data Officer of Publicis France. In 2017, he left Publicis and joined Havas, Vivendi Group as CEO of a subsidiary specialized in Data and Digital. In 2019, he returned to a position of Chief Data Officer at La Redoute, which was in the midst of a digital transformation. Samir also teaches Artificial Intelligence in a top school, holds two patents in Data and is a reviewer for an academic literature journal (Management and Data Sciences). He is a shareholder of two technology startups, he is a member of the steering committee of the Cité de l'AI (MEDF Nord), he is a co-pilot of one of the 5 projects (the Data and AI project) of the digital mission of large groups launched by Cedric O (Ministry of Economy and Finance); finally, he is a founding member of the French Tech Corporate Community also launched by the French government in March 2022.

In April 2022, he joined Auchan Retail France as Chief Data Officer.
