Sammy Toyoki
Assistant Professor, Marketing at Aalto University School of Business
Biography
Aalto University School of Business
I am an Assistant Professor at the Marketing Department. I am also the director of the MSc in Marketing program. I teach mainly courses to do with Consumer Culture and Qualitative Research Methods.
My research interests revolve primarily around consumer culture theory, identity and organization. Recently, I have focused on the role of consumption and identity work within organizational and institutional contexts, thus combining the interest areas of consumer research and organization theory. I am also interested in temporality as it relates to experience, practice, organization, and consumer culture in general.
BACKGROUND
Prior to joining Aalto in 2008, I spent around ten years in the UK studying and doing research. I did my doctoral training at Warwick Business School, UK.
