Samuel Kiragu

Samuel has over 12 years of financial services experience having worked with KPMG both in Kenya and Cayman Islands. He has also worked with UBS Bank in Cayman Islands and Mitsubishi Bank Canada as Client Relationship Manager. Samuel coordinates and teaches Financial Services programs at Nova Scotia Community College,Canada. In this role, he is helping to develop and deliver new practical courses on derivatives, hedge funds accounting and compliance with a special focus on offshore financial centers. He has designed and facilitated anti-money laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism courses in Canada, the Cayman Islands and Kenya . Currently, he is a member of Capital Markets Authority (CMA) working Group in Kenya. The group is advising the authority on new financial market initiatives relating to development of derivatives and exchange traded funds. Samuel devotes his summer holiday training on regulations and compliance related courses at Strathmore School of Business (SBS).

Education

Mr. Samuel Kiragu holds an MBA (Finance) from University of Liverpool and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option) from University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Secretary (CPS) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).He also holds Canadian Securities Course Certificate.
