ESADE Business School

Santiago Forte holds a PhD in Economics from Universidad Carlos III, Madrid. His Doctoral Thesis is focused on the application of structural models to the determination of credit risk and the optimal capital structure of companies.

He has been an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Economics and Business Economics of this University, teaching both at undergraduate and at Master and PhD level.

More recently, he conducted a research project with the Bank of Spain, aimed at measuring the credit risk of quoted companies.

Of note among his work are the following: ''Debt Refinancing and Credit Risk''; ''Capital Structure: Optimal Leverage and Maturity Choice in a Dynamic Model''; ''Credit Spreads: Theory and Evidence about the Information Content of Stocks, Bonds and CDSs'' and; ''Implied Default Barrier in Credit Default Swap Premia''.
