EXPERTISE/RESEARCH INTERESTS

Sarah Cabral has been teaching full-time in the Portico program since its inception. She greatly enjoys aiding her freshmen students in their transition to the Carroll School of Management. Prior to teaching Portico, she taught diverse courses in philosophy, such as Business Ethics, Great Ideas: Antiquity and Modernity, Philosophy of Religion and Philosophical Perspectives on Women at a variety of colleges and universities, including Stonehill College, Loyola University of Chicago, and Gordon College. Cabral was the recipient of the teaching assistantship and fourth year fellowship at Loyola University of Chicago and was awarded the summer fellowship at the Kierkegaard Library at St. Olaf College. Additionally, she has studied for a year at Oxford University and worked in Corfu, Greece.

Her dissertation research focused on the relationship of form and content in the writing of Søren Kierkegaard, and she has published articles on Kierkegaard’s influence on theology and philosophy. Recently, Cabral has worked with Carroll School of Management Professor Richard Spinello on business ethics issues, and last year she presented a paper they co-wrote at the International Conference on Information Law and Ethics in Corfu, Greece.
