He pursued his scientific career with a post-doctoral fellowship at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Ispra (Italy). He developed expertise in the field of metabolic profiling using magnetic resonance spectroscopy and mass spectrometry analysis of biological samples. He joined the Nestlé Research Center (Lausanne) in 2005 as scientist and then became head of the Metabonomics and Biomarkers group. In 2012, he joined the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences as senior specialist in Metabonomics. His research interests include molecular
physiological processes in metabolism and nutrition, metabolic phenotyping, biomarker discovery and validation, diagnostic translation and metabonomic-assisted medicine and surgery. He is author of 80 scientific publications accounting for a citation index of 22. He owns a title of Visiting Professor in the Division of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London. Throughout his academic affiliation, he collaborates with Prof. Jeremy Nicholson on the development of the UK large scale metabonomic national facility, the National Phenome Center, dedicated to molecular epidemiology and translational research in medicine.
