Shanti Raghavan is the co-founder of Enable India, and has been working for the economic independence and dignity of persons with disability since 1999. She is an Ashoka Fellow, a National Award Winner, and a governing council member of the Skills Council for Persons with Disability (SCPwD). Shanti has an MS in Computer Science from Monmouth University, USA, and 12 years of experience in the software industry.

Shanti Raghavan, is the Founder and Managing Trustee of Enable India, a non profit organization established in 1999 working for economic independence and dignity of persons with disability. Enable India was started after experiences with her brother who started growing blind at the age of 15. She has rich grassroots experience of over 16 years working across 11 disabilities.

She is an Ashoka fellow, a social entrepreneur who has pioneered disability livelihood models, methodologies and frameworks and innovative workplace solutions.

Enable India has opened up more than 272 jobs across 27 sectors where persons with disability are earning starting salary from Rs. 66000 to 18 lakhs per annum and their work has reached 359 locations in 28 states.

She has received numerous awards including National award from President Pratibha Patil in 2010, Global Amazing Indian from President Pranab Mukherjee in 2012, Indian social entrepreneur of the year finalist in 2016, Karmaveer Puraskar award in 2007, Sadguru Gnanananda Award in 2008, Rotary club awards, NCPEDP-SHELL HELEN KELLER AWARD (2005). She has been a speaker for disabled livelihoods at various international and national conferences such as Workability Asia, UNESCO, Indo-US, IIM, NASSCOM, CII, FICCI, Techshare and more.

She is on the governing council of Skill Council for Persons with Disability (ScPWD, NSDC, Central Govt).

She is also on the advisory committee for National Trust NSDC District saturation model and board member for JSS PDA and is on the Technical Advisory Group for Dr. Reddy’s Foundation. Prior to Enable India, she has 12 years international experience in the software industry working in AT&T, Bell Labs, ADP, Cybercash, GE Aircraft Engines in diverse domains ranging from business intelligence, stock exchange, finance, e-commerce, telecom, aviation technology and military.Shanti holds a bachelor’s degree (B.E) in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University and master’s degree (M.S) in Computer Science from Monmouth University, New Jersey, USA.
